Jeremiah did not get drafted into ministry during an era of peace and prosperity. The nation was literally crumbling to pieces around him. The leaders were entirely corrupt, the culture was toxic, and divine judgment was knocking loudly at the front door. It was exactly into this chaotic, terrifying mess that God called his name. Jeremiah immediately started listing his disqualifications and weaknesses, but the Almighty simply pointed to His own divine purpose. You see, the young prophet's strength had absolutely nothing to do with his own eloquence or bravery. His power came entirely from the blazing Word that God deliberately placed in his mouth.
We need this reminder desperately today. God has not called you to single-handedly fix the entire world. He hasn't asked you to forcibly change everyone’s mind. He is simply asking you to stand firmly in the exact place He has planted you, and faithfully speak the truth. Jeremiah wasn’t called to be a popular celebrity; he was called to be a faithful messenger. The success of his ministry wasn't measured by how many people applauded him. Raising children in a broken culture, leading with uncompromising honesty at work, or having that incredibly difficult conversation—these things rarely produce instant, magical results. But hear this clearly: the final outcome is not your responsibility. Faithfulness is. Stand your ground today. Speak the truth in love. And leave the heavy lifting of the harvest entirely in the hands of the Father.
